1941 A.D.
Science fiction writer Issac Asimov - who first used the word "robotics" to describe the technology of robots and predicted the rise of a powerful robot industry -- introduces the "Three Law of Robotics" in his short story "Liar!" They are: one, a robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm, two, a robot must obey the orders given it by human being except where such orders would conflict with the First Law; and three, a robot must protect its own existence so long as such protection does not conflict with the First and Second Laws.
